Historical background
CHAMPAGNE - ARCHBISHOP OF REIMS - ALBÉRIC OF HAUTVILLERS
(1207-1218)
The episcopate of Albéric de Hautvillers is inserted between that of Guy II Paré (1205-1207) and Guillaume II de Joinville (1219-1227). Although Albéric de Hautvillers had a reign as long as that of his successor, no coronation took place under his priesthood. Guillaume II de Joinville crowned Louis VIII on August 6, 1223 and Louis IX on November 29, 1226.
