Reverse description : Cheval à gauche, surmonté par une victoire stylisées ; une main ouverte, avec le pouce marqué, au-dessus du cheval ; trois globules posés en triangle sous le cheval.

Commentary


Cette drachme pourrait s’intégrer dans le type V de la série 1244 “types composites (or et argent)” du Nouvel Atlas.
L’avers est interprété comme dérivant de Rhoda. Aucune des monnaies de cette série ne présente un tel revers. La main est très bien représentée sur les statères attribués aux Pictons.
This drachma could fit into type V of the 1244 series “composite types (gold and silver)” of the New Atlas. The obverse is interpreted as deriving from Rhoda. None of the coins in this series have such a reverse. The hand is very well represented on the staters attributed to the Pictons
