Exemplaire complet, patine sombre. Le droit est assez flou, avec des excroissances de métal et un coup de burin sur la chevelure. Le revers est bien frappé et de bonne conservation

Commentary

Exemplaire avec l'épigraphie CABALLOS complète. Sur les deux exemplaires illustrés dans le RIG, l'un porte la légende CABALLO (BN. 5958) et l'autre ABALLOS (Lyon n° 783).

Under this term were gathered all the coins which are not attributed or attributable to a hypothetical center, "soft belly" of Gaul. The coins are very disparate and the attributions risky. One day perhaps, will we return to such a quarter of a stater at the Leuques or the Séquanes (Centre-East) or at the Bituriges Cubes or the Carnutes ("Centre-Centre") or even at the Pictons or the Lémovices (Centre-West) ? For the moment, an attribution to the Center which has no geographical, political or historical reality makes it possible to evacuate a certain number of insoluble attribution problems.
