Commentary
Single-sided obol attributable to the 10th century due to the bilinear legend of the obol, found mainly in the mints of the Paris region. One example was present in the Puy treasure and a second example was discovered in the Abbey of Saint-Leu-d'Esserent (Oise). Legros attributes this obol to an undetermined mint in the Paris region, in particular because of the bilinear legend. Due to the legends, we can classify this coin to Meaux. Georges Depeyrot mistakenly attributes it to the city of Lens (Pas-de-Calais)
