Commentary
Coins in Series 505 A of the New Atlas are still very rare, and it seems that their classification still needs to be refined. With the cheek marked with a crescent, this type corresponds to Class III. On the reverse, the crescent appears balled, it looks more like a torque, and unlike the DT 2571 example, the wheel is held by the animal's beak, not its talons. A coin of the greatest rarity in an exceptionally well-preserved state, missing from most collections.
