Commentary

La drachme de Calymna semble encore beaucoup plus rare que le didrachme. Semble des mêmes coins que l’exemplaire des doubles du British Museum (AC. V, 18 juin 1923, n° 2641, 2,64 g).

The island of Calymna is located to the north opposite the island of Cos and faces the coast, together with the towns of Myndos and Termera. The city of Calymna was located on the south coast of the island. Its coinage could begin in the 6th century BC, but is only really attested in the 3rd century BC..
