Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, parfaitement centré avec les grènetis complets. Beau portrait de Caracalla. Revers inhabituel bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine verte

Reverse description : Dieu rivière (Istrus) nu jusqu’à la ceinture allongé à gauche sur les flots, tenant de la main droite des épis et un pavot, le coude gauche appuyé sur un rocher déversant l’onde de la min droite ; dans le champ à gauche un rocher.

Commentary

Rubans de type 3. Type de buste inhabituel. Poids lourd, correspondant normalement à un pentassaria (5 assaria). Mais la marque de valeur E ne figure pas dans le champ du revers. Il s’agit donc bien d’un tetrassaria.
