Ce triens complètement inédit présente une légende complète qui permet de rattacher ce triens à CAPVD CERVI, Sacierges-Saint-Martin, dans l’Indre.
La légende du revers est plus complexe, avec de belles lettres (peu nombreuses mais bien venues). Seule la lettre avant le monogramme FIT laisse un doute ; il pourrait s’agir d’un L, d’un E ou d’un C angulaire.
Le monogramme FIT (à 9 heures) est bien attesté sur le monnayage mérovingien. Cela sous entend que ce qui précède est le nom du monétaire ; OMAIGVL, ce qui ne correspond à aucun nom connu. A moins que la légende doivent être lue à partir de 3 heures, avec MO (sic) AIGVL FIT .
This completely unpublished triens has a complete legend that allows us to link this triens to CAPVD CERVI, Sacierges-Saint-Martin, in Indre. The legend on the reverse is more complex, with beautiful letters (few but welcome). Only the letter before the FIT monogram leaves a doubt; it could be an L, an E or an angular C. The FIT monogram (at 9 o'clock) is well attested on Merovingian coinage. This implies that what precedes is the name of the mint; OMAIGVL, which does not correspond to any known name.
