Commentary
Sur cet exemplaire, la date n’est pas visible à l’exergue, mais avec le monogramme, il semble bien que notre exemplaire soit de l’an 30.

Ariobarzanes I was elected in 95 BC, his candidacy having been supported by the Romans. Cappadocia was occupied by the troops of Mithridates VI of Pontus and his son Ariarathes IX (101-87 BC) and the king often had to abandon his capital.
