Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés à l’usure régulière. Belle tête d’Apollon. Joli revers. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Commentary


Un graffiti devant la tête d’Apollon (VX). Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation de 144 coins de droit et de 175 coins de revers. L’insecte au revers est sensé être une mouche difficile à reconnaître dans l’insecte placé derrière la tête d’Apollon. Ce type est en fait plus rare que ne semblent le montrer les ouvrages généraux..

The Calpurnia gens is of plebeian origin. Caius Calpurnius Piso married Cicero's daughter in 63, the year of the great orator's consulship. He became praetor in 58 BC. Caius Calpurnius Piso became consul in 67 BC jointly with Marcus Acilio Glabrio.
