Commentary
Quoique la fortune des armes semblât abandonner la France, la Bourgogne se montre plus rassurée ; elle compte sur les deux Condé, celui qui se battit à Seneffe et son fils le duc de Bourbon. Le premier étant devenu infirme, ne pouvait plus venir tenir les États ; le second lui succédait par anticipation. Le vaisseau de la province, sur une mer agitée par les vents soufflant des quatre points cardinaux, est retenu par deux ancres fixées au rivage.
