Exemplaire bien centré au droit avec une frappe légèrement molle. Frappe vigoureuse, décentrée au revers laissant apparaître la plus grande partie du grènetis incus avec un fort relief

Au droit, les lettres de l’ethnique sont rétrogrades. L’ethnique et le héron, au revers, ne sont pas visibles. Aspect massif du revers.

(510-480 BC)

Crotone is an Achaean colony founded in 710 BC Under the leadership of Milon, the Crotoniates captured Sybaris and destroyed it. In the following century, following internal struggles, the city declined before falling into the hands of Dionysius of Syracuse in 378 BC, then Agathokles in 296 BC and finally between those of Pyrrhus in 277 BCE. It was conquered by the Romans during the Second Punic War after the Battle of Cannae in 216 BC.
