Reverse description : La Vierge de Beaune debout à droite, tenant l’enfant Jésus qui tient une pampre (armes de Beaune), à l’exergue : HERARD.

Commentary


Tixier portait d’azur, à une croix d’or cantonnée aux 1 et 4 de deux étoiles d’argent, aux 2 et 3 de deux trèfles de même. Ce jeton est signé de Gérard Léonard Hérard, né à Liège en 1630, décédé à Paris en 1675. Il était membre de l’Académie de peinture et de sculpture depuis 1670. Un article lui est consacré dans la Revue Belge de Numismatique de 1891.
Tixier wore azure, a gold cross with two silver stars at 1 and 4, and two silver trefoils at 2 and 3. This token is signed by Gérard Léonard Hérard, born in Liège in 1630, died in Paris in 1675. He was a member of the Academy of Painting and Sculpture since 1670. An article was dedicated to him in the Belgian Numismatic Review of 1891.
