The edge is smooth, missing from the Feuardent and Corre, perhaps it is a re-strike? The only dating element we have for this token is the signature of the engraver, in this case NR for Norbert Röettiers who was general engraver from 1703. According to the authors, this token is dated from 1707 (Florange) to 1713 (Feuardent). Pierre Grassin is Baron of Arcis and Dieuville-sur-Aube, Lord of Mormant, Director General of the Mints of France. His family would have been from Sens according to J. Florange. His wife is Charlotte Dupuy d'Igny. Tokens with busts of people other than members of the royal family are obviously very rare, the cost of engraving the dies being at the time, as today, prohibitive.
