Commentary
Louis de France, duc de Bourgogne est le fils aîné du Grand Dauphin. Né en 1682, il eut comme précepteur Fénelon, lequel composa pour lui ses Fables et son Télémaque. Piètre général en Flandre en 1708, il devint dauphin en 1711 mais mourut l’année suivante de la variole. Il est le père de Louis XV.
