Mithridates III is the son of Aspurgus and Queen Gepaepyris. By his parents, he is the descendant of Mithridates VI of Pontus and Pharnaces. He succeeded his mother in 39. Confused with Caligula, he was no longer recognized by Rome. His brother Cotys I succeeded him in 45.
