Bronze sur un flan large et régulier. L’avers est un peu confus avec une surface légèrement piquée mais le revers est très beau et particulièrement net avec sa patine verte et les reliefs soulignés de zones ocres

Obverse description : Tête à gauche, la chevelure traitée en mèches proches des boucles aquitaniques, la base du cou fortement marquée ; grènetis.
Reverse
Reverse legend : VOC, O POINTÉ.
Reverse description : Cheval bondissant à gauche, un annelet pointé entre les jambes ; grènetis.

L'exemplaire n° 790 de MONNAIES 31 a été vendu 278€ avec un revers moins beau que celui-ci !
Ce bronze est rare et n'est apparu que très récemment sur le marché avec les exemplaires MONNAIES XXIII, n° 808, XXIV, n° 947, XXVI, n° 629, XXVIII, n° 573 et celui de MONNAIES 31.
Les deux exemplaires de MONNAIES XXIII et XXIV n'avaient pas cette légende VOC aussi lisible au-dessus du cheval au revers.
Copy No. 790 of COINS 31 was sold for €278 with a less beautiful reverse than this one! This bronze is rare and only appeared very recently on the market with examples COINS XXIII, No. 808, XXIV, No. 947, XXVI, No. 629, XXVIII, No. 573 and that of COINS 31. The two examples of COINS XXIII and XXIV did not have this legend VOC as legible above the horse on the reverse

It is sometimes very difficult to decide on an attribution due to the lack of information on the location of the finds. On the other hand, a site that is too well excavated can distort our judgment because the concentration of specimens found on a given site does not necessarily correspond with the ancient reality. Numismatics like other sciences abhors a vacuum and has tried to fill them by all means, even at the cost of error. The uncertain coins attributed to the Bituriges Cubes are poorly known and little or poorly published. But in the Center-West, around Poitiers, Limoges or Bourges, these coins are known to local scholars who have classified them differently for a long time. Only active collaboration can allow us to better understand these coins and return them to whom it may concern..
