Obverse description : Vache à gauche placée sur un épi de blé tourné à droite.

Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

(Fourth century BC)

Chalcedon Megarian colony was founded in the seventh century BC on the Asian coast of the Propontis opposite Byzantium. Following the campaign in Thrace Cimon, Chalcedon between the Delian League and remained there until 413 BC The city later passed under the Spartan domination. After the battle of Cnidus in 394 BC, won by Conon, she opposed Sparta. After the Peace of the Great King in 387 BC (Antalcidas), she passed under Persian rule before allying with Thebes in 364 BC At the time of Alexander's invasion, the city remained faithful to Darius III and Alexander recognized as 330 BC.
