Bithynia - CHALCEDON

(Fourth century BC)

Chalcedon Megarian colony was founded in the seventh century BC on the Asian coast of the Propontis opposite Byzantium. Following the campaign in Thrace Cimon, Chalcedon between the Delian League and remained there until 413 BC The city later passed under the Spartan domination. After the battle of Cnidus in 394 BC, won by Conon, she opposed Sparta.
