Né en Bielorussie, Lev Sapiega ou Sapieha (1557-1633) est un grand commis au service du Grand-Duché de Lituanie et oeuvra ainsi pour la République des deux-Nations. Il restera célèbre en qualité de rédacteur des Statuts du Grand-Duché de Lituanie. Il est enterré dans la crypte de l’église Saint Michel l’archange à Vilnius.
