Commentary


Habituellement, les chevaux à droite n’ont pas d’astre entre les jambes du cheval. Cet exemplaire est un contre-exemple.
L'article de L.-P. Delestrée et C. Delplace, La série trimétallique à l'astre témoin du monnayage bellovaque, Mélanges Colbert de Beaulieu, loc. cit., p.253-273 fait le point sur cette très importante série. Pour les quarts de statère en argent, les auteurs ont relevé vingt-et-une pièces provenant toutes du site de Digeon dans la Somme. Sur cet échantillon les auteurs ont relevé dix coins de droit et douze de revers.

Bellovaci (Region Beauvais)
