Obverse description : Buste diadémé, casqué et cuirassé de Basiliscus de face, tenant de la main droite la haste qui repose sur l'épaule et de la gauche, un bouclier orné d'un cavalier chargeant à droite (N’a).
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Basiliscus Perpetuus Augustus” (Notre seigneur Basiliscus perpétuel auguste).

Reverse legend : VICTORI-A AVGGG (DELTA)/ -|* CONOB.
Reverse description : Victoria (La Victoire) debout à gauche, tenant une longue croix de la main droite ; dans le champ à droite, étoile à huit rais.

Basiliscus, brother of Verina, wife of Leo I, revolted against Emperor Zeno at the beginning of the year 475 and briefly took power. Indeed, Zeno reacted vigorously, took over Constantinople and had Basiliscus and Marcus, his son, put to death in 476.
