PROVINCIAL BANK

Development activity, born of the Industrial Revolution led to the creation of a new type of banks, for all called deposit banks. Banks were thus created in Bordeaux, Le Havre, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Orléans, Rouen, Toulouse. In 1848, they were absorbed by the Bank of France which also created 47 branches in Montpellier, Saint-Etienne, Saint-Quentin, Reims, Avignon, Besançon, Angoulême, Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand, Chateauroux, Caen, Mulhouse, Strasbourg, The Mans and Valenciennes, Rennes, Nîmes, Metz, Angers, Nevers, etc..
