La Monnaie de Paris ne frappe pas que les Euros français, elle a aussi une activité à l’international. En 2004 elle remporta le marché pour frapper dans son usine de Pessac les nouvelles coupures du Bangladesh.
Il peut arriver que les flans destinés aux diverses productions se mélangent. C’est le cas ici avec cette pièce de 2 Taka frappée sur un flan de 2 cent Euro magnétique. Cette pièce pèse normalement 7g. et mesure 26,03 mm.
La pièce est aplatie et déformée par la frappe.
A ce jour nous avons connaissance de moins de cinq exemplaires retrouvés retrouvés pour ce fauté.
The Monnaie de Paris not only strikes French Euros; it also operates internationally. In 2004, it won the contract to strike the new Bangladeshi denominations at its Pessac factory. It can happen that the blanks intended for the various productions get mixed up. This is the case here with this 2 Taka coin struck on a magnetic 2 cent Euro blank. This coin normally weighs 7g and measures 26.03 mm. The coin is flattened and deformed by the strike. To date, we are aware of fewer than five examples found for this fault.
