(1664-1695)
Olmutz was founded by the Romans and in the Middle Ages the city was equipped with important fortifications so that in 1241, it resisted the Mongols. Olmutz was the capital of Moravia until the year 1641 and in 1642 the town was taken by the Swedes. Charles II of Lichtenstein succeeded Bishop Charles Joseph of Austria (1663-1664). La Fayette was detained at Olmutz from 1794 to 1797.
