Commentary

Alexandre Mell (1851-1931) était professeur à l’école pour aveugles de Vienne. La signature P. Mell semble être celle de celle d’un des enfants qui l’avait fait graver pour l’offrir ensuite au nom de tous les enfants à leurs parents.
Alexander Mell (1851-1931) was a teacher at the Vienna School for the Blind. The signature P. Mell appears to be that of one of the children who had it engraved and then offered it to their parents on behalf of all the children.
