Commentary

Mariage de l’archiduchesse Marie-Christine (fille de l’empereur François Ier du Saint-Empire) et d’Albert de Saxe-Teschen (fils d’Auguste III de Pologne) le 10 Avril 1766. Marie-Christine était amoureuse d’Albert-Casimir de Saxe qu’elle ne parvint à épouser qu’en obtenant l’accord de Marie Thérèse après le décès de François Ier qui était opposé à cette union. Un des très rares mariages d’amour à cette époque dans ces milieux.
Marriage of Archduchess Maria Christina (daughter of Emperor Francis I of the Holy Roman Empire) and Albert of Saxony-Teschen (son of Augustus III of Poland) on 10 April 1766. Maria Christina was in love with Albert Casimir of Saxony, whom she only managed to marry after obtaining the consent of Maria Theresa after the death of Francis I, who was opposed to this union. One of the very rare love marriages at this time in these circles
