AUSTRIA - BISHOPRIC Olmutz - III CHARLES JOSEPH DE LORRAINE

(1695-1711)

Olmutz was founded by the Romans and the Middle Ages the city was endowed important fortifications so that in 1241 it resisted the Mongols. Olmutz was the capital of Moravia until the year 1641 and in 1642 the city was taken by the Swedes. Joseph Charles III of Lorraine succeeded Charles II of Lichtenstein in 1695 and is the brother of the Duke of Lorraine, Leopold. La Fayette was held Olmutz of 1794-1797.
