Un concours a été lancé dans les écoles autrichiennes auprès d’enfants de 9-10 ans pour qu’ils dessinent leur province. Le dessin gagnant est reproduit sur l’avers de chaque pièce.
Le revers de chaque pièce est illustré par un monument autrichien remarquable classé au Patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco.
La première pièce de la série est consacrée à la Styrie (Steiermark). Le concours a été remporté par une jeune autrichienne, Viktoria Reicht, qui a mis en avant le patrimoine naturel de la Styrie appelée le “Coeur vert” de l’Autriche.
