Historical background

AUSTRIA - SALZBURG - JEROME COLLOREDO

(1773-1803)

Sigismund III died on December 16, 1771 after eighteen years of reign. The vacancy of the seat lasted from December 16, 1772 to March 14, 1773. Colloredo is best known for having been the patron of Mozart (1756-1791) with whom he did not get along and who broke with the prince bishop definitively in 1781. 1803, his property was secularized.
