Commentary


Ce type fut frappé entre 1857 et 1870 à Sydney, grâce à la découverte des mines d'or d'Australie à partir de 1851 en Nouvelles Galles du Sud et de 1852 dans l'État de Victoria qui provoquèrent comme en Californie trois ans plus tôt une arrivée massive d'immigrants.
This type was struck between 1857 and 1870 in Sydney, thanks to the discovery of Australian gold mines from 1851 in New South Wales and 1852 in the State of Victoria which, like in California three years earlier, caused a massive arrival of immigrants.

(20/06/1837-22/01/1901)

Victoria I (1819-1901) was the daughter of Edward, Duke of Kent, and Victoria of Saxe Coburg. She succeeded her uncle William IV in 1837 and married Albert, Prince of Saxe Coburg Gotha (1819-1861), in 1840. She was the grandmother of noble Europe.
