Commentary

Les émissions privées de token de 1 penny et 1/2 penny concernent plus de 126 firmes avec plus de 530 émissions. Leur nombre culmine à partir des années 1850 avec la découverte de fillons d’or. Les monnaies en bronze britanniques arrivent à partir de 1860 remplaçant ces tokens devenus impopulaires. Les derniers tokens circulent jusqu’en 1878 en Australie de l’Ouest..
