Très rare bronze, sur un flan un peu court et irrégulier, mais avec des types centrés. Patine verte avec des concrétions rougeâtres au droit

Obverse description : Tête masculine à droite, la légende devant le visage.

Reverse description : Sanglier enseigne à gauche ; une esse sous le groin et un croissant entre les pattes ; légendes au-dessus du sanglier et sous la ligne d'exergue.
Commentary
Ce n’est que la seconde fois que nous proposons ce rarissime bronze à la vente. Au droit comme au revers, les légendes sont incomplètes, mais EBVRO est particulièrement nette au droit, comme EBVROVICO au revers.

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
