Commentary
Ce type est très rare et cet exemplaire est dans un état de conservation assez exceptionnel. Un exemplaire était conservé à la BN et un second au Musée de Lyon. Classé par erreur aux Suessions, ce bronze semble devoir être restitué aux Aulerques Eburovices.
This type is very rare and this example is in a rather exceptional state of preservation. One example was kept at the National Library and a second at the Museum of Lyon. Wrongly classified as a Suessiones, this bronze seems to have been returned to the Aulerci Eburovices.

GALLIA - AULERCI EBUROVICES (Area of Évreux)
(3rd - 1st century BC)
The Aulerci were subdivided into three tribes: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani and Aulerci Éburovices. The territory of Aulerques Éburovices corresponds to the current department of Eure. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. According to the latter, they would have massacred their Senate favorable to the Romans in 56 BC and would have joined the Unelles and the revolted Lexoviens. In 52 BC, they provided a contingent of three thousand men to the relief army. : Caesar (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
