The Aulerci are a great people which is divided into three main tribes whose Aulerci Cenomani who were placed southeast of Aulerci Diablintes basin (Mayenne), the current department of Sarthe. Their city to the Gallo-Roman period, Vindunum perpetuates their name as Le Mans. In 52 BC, they provided a quota of five thousand men for the relief army of Vercingetorix, besieged in Alesia.
