Little by little, Epaticcus overflowed into the territory of the Atrebates and Regni of Verica (10-40) who had succeeded Epillus. In 40, Verica was deposed and took refuge in Rome, claiming the help of the Romans in order to restore it. After his death in 43, Claude decided to invade Brittany. Epaticcus was overthrown and Caratacus succeeded him.
