Commentary

Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) est un compositeur français qui dirigea la Villa Médicis de 1937 à 1940, il reprendra ses fonctions en 1944 jusqu’en 1960.
Médaille conservée dans une boîte cartonnée bordeaux qui présente une dédicace à l’intérieur de la boîte “Bien amicalement, En souvenir de la villa, (signature)” et de l’autre côté de la boîte “in loving memory Rosette”.
Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) was a French composer who directed the Villa Medici from 1937 to 1940, he resumed his duties in 1944 until 1960. Medal preserved in a burgundy cardboard box which has a dedication inside the box “Best regards, In memory of the villa, (signature)” and on the other side of the box “in loving memory Rosette”
