(1585-1618)

Catherine de Lorraine is the daughter of Charles de Lorraine, better known as Duke of Mayenne, head of the League following his brother and Henriette de Savoie-Villars, born in 1585. She is the first wife of Charles I of Gonzague with whom she married in 1599 in Soissons. She died on March 8, 1618 in Paris. She is the mother of Charles de Gonzague, Louise-Marie de Gonzague-Nevers, born in 1611, and Anne de Gonzague, born in 1616.
