Commentary


Pour Feuardent ce jeton est un jeton de souvenir frappé des décennies après la campagne militaire pour rappeler ce qui fut un haut fait d’armes du jeune Louis XIV, le 6 août 1657. Il est exact que le buste utilisé est daté du début des années 1690, quarante ans plus tard.
For Feuardent this token is a souvenir token struck decades after the military campaign to recall what was a great feat of arms of the young Louis XIV, on August 6, 1657. It is true that the bust used is dated to the beginning of the 1690s, forty years later

ARDENNES - MONTMÉDY

The town of Montmédy belonged to the Duchy of Luxembourg. Taken from the Spaniards in 1657, it was reunited with France by the Treaty of the Pyrenees.
