Commentary

Louis de La Trémouille, duc de Noirmoutier, est gouverneur de Charleville et du Mont-Olympe de 1651 à 1665. Il est l’un des quatre magistrats de la principauté d’Arches dont nous connaissons des jetons avec Raoul Coichon, Antoine Du Mesnil et Esprit de Rémond. Ce jeton est classé par Feuardent au Poitou mais il est frappé pour (et à ?) Charleville avec un revers allusif. Ce jeton a probablement été frappé pour la venue de Louis XIV en 1657.
