Obverse description : Buste de Chosroès II couronné à droite, surmonté d'un casque ailé entouré d'un double grènetis avec trois étoiles surmontant des croissants ; inscription extérieure.

Reverse legend : INSCRIPTION EN PEHLVI.
Reverse description : Autel entre deux prêtres, du Soleil à gauche et de la Lune à droite, entouré d'un triple grènetis, au-dessus quatre croissants surmontés d'étoiles ; dans le champ, quatre groupes de trois globules posés en triangle.

Cette hemidrachme appartient à ‘Abd Allah b. ‘Arif, gouverneur du Tabaristan entre 790 et 793.

(Seventh - eighth century)

Several Arab governors succeeded in Tabaristan between 31 and 148 AD AH is between 1 and 114 after age Yazdgard III (632-651) last Sassanid ruler, between 652 and 765 AD. Farkan, the little son of the founder of the dynasty Ispahbads is the best known of these governors.
