"Happy Arabia" was strategically very important for controlling the spice and silk route to and from India and China. Trade with the Greek world was very important and ended on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean, in Gaza. From the beginning of the 4th century BC, the Athenian coinage became the reference for exchanges.
