Obverse description : Le duc portant une couronne de fleur, à mi-corps de face, drapé, tenant une épée de sa main droite, le tout dans un polylobe bouleté.

Obverse translation : (Charles, duc d’Aquitaine).

Reverse

Reverse legend : *(NEF)* XPC VINCIT XPC REGNAT XPC INPERAT.

Reverse description : Croix feuillue portant un quadrilobe évidé en cœur, cantonnée aux 1 et 4 d’un léopard, aux 2 et 3 d’un lis, le tout dans un polylobe bouleté (douze lobes).

Reverse translation : (Le Christ vainc, le Christ Règne, le Christ commande).

Commentary

Charles de France frappa à Bordeaux et La Rochelle. Les rares hardis d’or, inspirés de ceux frappés lors de l’occupation anglaise de la Guyenne, ne furent frappés qu’à Bordeaux.
