Commentary

Historical background

APPULEIA

(104 BC) Lucius Appuleius Saturninus

Marius, who was consul that year with Gaius Flavius Fimbria, reorganized the army, did vote "lex Domitia of sacerdotiis" which provided for the election of priestly colleges. A second slave revolt ravaged Sicily. Lucius Appuleius Quaestor was about to present itself as tribune of the plebs and present demagogic laws to serve its interests.
