Exemplaire sur un flan large et épais avec les grènetis complets. Beau portrait inhabituel d’Antonin le Pieux. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine verte

Obverse description : Buste lauré d’Antonin le Pieux à droite, drapé sur l’épaule gauche (O*2).

Obverse translation : “Antoninus Augustus Pius Pater Patriæ Imperator iterum”, (Antonin auguste pieux père de la patrie revêtu de la deuxième acclamation impériale.

Reverse

Reverse legend : TR POT XX - COS IIII/ S|C.

Reverse description : Annona (l’Annone) drapée, debout à droite, le pied gauche posé sur une proue de navire tournée à droite, tenant un gouvernail de la mina droite renversée et un modius de la main gauche posé sur son genou.

Reverse translation : “Tribunicia Potestate vicesimum Consul quartum”, (Revêtu de la vingtième puissance tribunitienne consul pour la quatrième fois).

Commentary

Sesterce sur un flan large et épais comme pour les médaillons. Poids lourd. Rubans de type 3. Petit pan de paludamentum sur l’épaule gauche, visible de chaque côté du cou. Ce type est frappé au moment des vicennalia d’Antonin.
