Reverse description : Buste tête nue, drapé de Marc Aurèle César à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant.
Reverse translation : “Aurelius Cæsar Augusti Pii Filius Consul”, (Aurèle césar fils de pieux auguste consul).
Commentary
Intéressante émission dynastique. Au revers, le buste de Marc-Aurèle est parmi les plus rares de la série !.

ANTONINUS PIUS and MARCUS AURELIUS CAESAR
(140-161)
On Hadrian's recommendation, Antonin adopted Marc Aurèle and Lucius Vérus. On the coinage, Marcus Aurelius appeared in 139. He took his first consulship on January 1, 140 and his second consulship on January 1, 145. He married the daughter of Antoninus, Faustina young. The following year, at the birth of their first child, he received his first tribunician power. In 161, he succeeded his adoptive father.
