Historical background

ANTONIA

(+37) restitution of CLAUDE

Daughter of Marcus Antonius, wife of Nero Drusus, mother of Germanicus

Antonia (36 AC - 37 AD), daughter of Marc Antony and Octavia, niece of Augustus, wife of Drusus, mother of Germanicus and Claudius, sister-in-law of Tiberius, crosses the Augustan period to die - possibly poisoned - during the reign of Caligula, her grandson. It is she who, in 29, reveals the sedition of Séjan to Tiberius.
