ANNAM - DUY TAN
(1907-1916)
Prince Nguyễn Phúc Vĩnh San (1899 or 1900 - 1945), known by the dynastic name of Duy Tân, is the eleventh ruler of the Nguyễn dynasty. He is the son of Emperor Thành Thái. The latter, suffering from madness, was forced by the French authorities to abdicate in favor of his son, just 7 years old. Inducted on September 3, 1907 under the name Duy Tân. In 1916, the revolt of 1916 which he led was repressed by French troops. He was dethroned by the French government and exiled to Reunion Island. Keen.
