Lucien Le Ruyet est né en 1934 à Quistinic dans le Morbihan. Après une formation à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, à l'atelier Zadkine à Paris, et au Royal College of Art de Londres, il a participé à différentes expositions en Suisse et salons en France.
Le Martin-chasseur géant (Dacelo novaeguineae), aussi appelé kookaburra, est une espèce d'oiseaux de la famille des alcédinidés présents en Australie.
Oiseau mythique dans la culture aborigène, son chant ressemble à un rire rauque. Son nom australien (de la langue morte wiradjuri) est d'ailleurs Laughing Kookaburra (littéralement « Kookaburra rieur »)..

The giant kingfisher (Dacelo novaeguineae), also called kookaburra, is a species of bird in the Alcedinidae family found in Australia. A mythical bird in Aboriginal culture, its call resembles a raucous laugh. Its Australian name (from the extinct Wiradjuri language) is indeed Laughing Kookaburra.
