Commentary

Ce type de sceat est parmi les plus rares. Le carré creux est traditionnellement au revers, mais avec cet exemplaire nous aurions deux revers ; la croix étant elle aussi traditionnellement au revers. Le carré perlé est plutôt considéré comme le droit dans les ouvrages de classement.
This type of sceat is among the rarest. The hollow square is traditionally on the reverse, but with this example we would have two reverses; the cross is also traditionally on the reverse. The pearl square is rather considered as the right in classification works.
